Public Transportation

In Winnipeg, bus frequency is one of the four main priorities for transit named by citizens.  In our community, residents have told me to make transit more frequent, accessible and affordable.
Our youth and student riders have also said the City should work to improve transit service from our community to the University of Manitoba.  After downtown, the second destination most frequented by transit users is the University of Manitoba.
Over one-third of commuters on the Fort Garry Campus use public transit. They have said “reduce transfer times, increase transit convenience and improve reliability, safety and affordability.” My priorities for public transit are your priorities.
I am committed to working with Transit Planners to host a series of open houses to discuss with residents existing routes, ridership and potential new routes to improve transit services in the community.  I want to explore innovative solutions that are a win-win for all!

The Winnipeg Transit Department will be hosting a series of Public Engagement Sessions to hear from the public on the planned transit projects and is inviting Winnipeggers the opportunity to provide their input.
